Portrait session

The process of wet plate collodion is an imperfect art form. Unique characteristics will be present with every plate made. We're not creating a photo; we're creating a piece of art together. The beauty of this process is that you get a timeless, one-of-a-kind image—something tangible and made in the room with you at that moment in time.

Tintypes are metal plates varnished the traditional way with either shellac or gum sandarac varnish. You'll be able to bring tintypes home the same day.

Ambrotypes are glass plates backed with asphaltum. Ambrotypes need a week for the asphaltum to cure before bringing them home.

Additional plates can be made during our session. See the prices below. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
