Ross is a Vancouver-based photographer who has revived one of the original photographic processes—wet plate collodion. The process, invented in 1851, involves sensitizing a metal (tintype) or glass (ambrotype) plate with salted collodion and silver nitrate. The plate is then placed inside a camera to make a one-of-a-kind image.
